Johnnie Day of Service: Catholic Charities

Join Twin Cities alumni, parents and friends in the inaugural Johnnie Day of Service on Saturday, May 3.

Alumni, parents and friends are invited to volunteer through Catholic Charities in either Maplewood or St. Paul. Choose between two volunteer opportunities through Catholic Charities:

  • Lunch Time Meal Service at the Family Service Center from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (2001 Van Dyke Street, Maplewood, MN 55109) - up to 7 volunteers. Volunteers are needed in the kitchen to help prepare and serve meals.

  • Extended Hours Program at the Dorothy Day Center from 7-10 p.m. (183 Old 6th Street, St. Paul, MN 55102) - up to 12 volunteers. Volunteers are needed in the early evening to help set up mats and pass out blankets, help to check in guests at the front desk and help to organize and serve a light snack before the lights are dimmed at 10 p.m.
Service and partnership with others is integral to Saint John’s University. The Benedictine Values of hospitality, justice and respect for persons are vital for every human being. Join Johnnies around the country as we practice these values, give back to the local community and connect with area Johnnie alumni, parents and friends.

Please register above for one of the volunteer opportunities for planning purposes.
